Hello, my friends.
I want to share a quick part about how to find your overall writing voice.
Which is, I believe, the single greatest struggle for most writers. And itโs also the key to unlocking your creative potential.
Spending some time thinking over a writer’s voice is worthy of your care and focus.
Whether you blog for enjoyment, write books, craft poetry, or inspire people with your blogs, itโs fundamental that you find your signature form.
If you struggle with getting people to read your writing or with staying steady in your work, you need to stop chasing numbers because that gets you nowhere.
What you need to develop is your voice.
Itโs time to start discovering and growing that voice of yours.
Not sure where to start? No problem
Most of us need help in discovering to know our voice.
Hereโs a short practice that can help you.
Just follow these 9 exercise steps.
1) Your perception
Define yourself in three qualities.
Example: peaceful, content, and flirty. Ask (and answer) the question: What’s your opinion?
2) Your ideals
Imagine your ideal reader. Describe the user in detail. Then, write to him or her, and only him or her.
Example: My ideal reader is smart.
Has a touch of joy, a great attention span, and is pretty informed when it comes to blogging and digital marketing.
The reader is sharp and amusing but doesnโt like to waste time.
3) Get some knowledge
Write down at least five books, articles, or blogs you like to read. Spend some time examining them.
- How are they alike?
- How are they different?
- What about how theyโre written intrigues you?
What we admire is what we aspire to be.
Example: Do you like these writers? Why? Because there are original, fresh, and modern. โ visit my free stuff page!
4) Useful resources
Bookmark your preferred topic and creative influences. Are you using these as sources in your writing, or avoiding them, because you donโt think people would understand them.
Example: I bookmark some of my creative works in my writing to teach sincerer readings.
5) Learn your normal voice
Ask other people: โWhatโs my voice? What do I sound like?โ Take notes of the answers you get.
6) Clarity writing
Write in a way thatโs most natural to you, without editing. Then go back and read it, asking yourself, โDo I publish stuff that sounds like this?โ
8) Learn to talk and think bright
Read your old blog post, and uprightly ask yourself, is this something I would read? If not, you must change your voice.
Ask yourself: do I dig what Iโm writing as Iโm writing it? If it feels like stress, you may not be writing like yourself.
9) Pay attention to how youโre thinking
- Were you sidetracked before publishing?
- Did you spend much time on social networking? (waste of time)
- Do you live in a stressful situation?
- Is your source of knowledge old fashioned?
You better recognize your track maybe you’re on the wrong path.
Learning and correcting will get you on the right path.
