What is a fake Christian pastors according to the bible?
Bible definition:
False prophets and teachers are, persons who mislead you away from the truth and walk according to their own insights.
- 1 John 4:1.
- Mathew 7:15-16. 2.
- Peter 2:1-3.
- Fake Christian pastors preach about money how much money you have or give to the church, and how blessed you will be.
- A phony pastor preaches about themselves (boasting).
- A phony pastor preacher about prosperity.
- A phony pastor preacher about to reconsider the bible.
- A phony pastor preacher about another (bigger) faith.
Fake pastors often use the following tactics to manipulate followers:
- Exaggerated Claims: They make bold promises like miracles to enhance their image.
- Lack of Theological Knowledge: They misinterpret scripture to support their agendas.
- Manipulative Behavior: Emotional appeals and fear tactics encourage dependence on the pastor.
- Financial Exploitation: High-pressure donation tactics are used to misappropriate funds.
- Creating Divisiveness: They promote conflict within congregations, damaging community and fellowship.
What Are The Characteristics of Fake Christian Pastors?
Well, many churchgoers find this hard to accept, but most churches are soft. That being said I must say stay, be strong in the faith. Churches are unable to identify them.
I’m not making fun of churches but somebody got to address the wickedness. To identify and avoid them you have to know what the characteristics of these fake Christian pastors are:
- They are charismatic.
- Although mistakes are human, they say that they are sent and used by God, and that they make no mistakes.
- They feel entitled to fully obey God.
- They do not answer questions and cannot provide answers.
What can you do in your church?
Maybe you are unsure or scared, but you have 2 options:
- Leave that church, because you won’t accept wickedness and teachings against the bible and the Lord. Find another one that accepts the whole bible.
- Address the leader of the church in private for leading churchgoers wrong and what the judgment is for that and talk about repentance for the wrong.
The Dangers Of Following Fake Pastors
Maybe you are in love with the wrong pastor among those fake Christian pastors and won’t accept the truth; those individuals are opponents of the true faith.
When you decide to follow them, you take a huge life risk with serious consequences.
You can read below what the risks are:
- Fake pastors bring spiritual deception:
The big danger about these pastors and teachers is leading true followers away from true biblical teachings and their meaning.
So the church community is dependent on that pastor rather than God.
- Fake pastors exploit you financially:
They often misuse tithing and convince you to make a donation when you are vulnerable.
Or use high-pressure tactics to obtain donations such as a money prayer line.
The concept is like a hustle how more you donate how blessed you will be.
- Divisiveness and Conflict:
Another thing fake Christian pastors like is to create and promote church schisms and divide people so they get the wrong idea about faith.
They also promote a toxic environment and say that you are wrong, sick, or posed and need them because they are the only one that can heal you.
Real-world Fake Christian Pastors
These pastors are famous for having a large congregation. But their evil deeds are continuously exposed by the bible. Darkness can not be hidden by the light of Christ.
Famous mega falsehoods are around us; you can spot them with wisdom and faith.
Here is an overview of their fraudulent activities:
- Preaching about money and prosperity.
- Living in luxury.
- No biblical faith teachings.
- Pyramid scheme.
- Uses people’s weak points.
Case Study 1: [TD Jakes]

- A belief, but they deny its power that led them astray.
- Opposition to the true faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- He was exposed after secret private videos in which he approved of P. Diddy’s lifestyle.
Here is the video where he got exposed.
Case Study 2: [Creflo Dollar]

- Teach to go after money.
- Ask the church to buy him a private jet, to preach in luxury.
- He was exposed after secret videos of his luxury lifestyle, where the church community got nothing in return.
Hereโs the video where he got caught.
Case Study 3: [Benni Hinn]

- Benni Hinn uses people’s weak points and fake healing to trap many in falsehood. So they are left with no hope and faith.
- Continue to lie to people.
- Steal the people’s money.
Here is the video that shows his lies.
They are all exposed by the Bible; some guys are asking them which verse they are referencing. They have no biblical source for their claims.
Protecting Yourself and Your Community
As you live your life and want to protect yourself and your close ones you have to use wisdom.
- Recognizing Red Flags
- Signs to watch for in church leadership:
โ The leader must be rooted in the bible and must give an account for everything and explain. It is not enough when you quote the bible.
- Encouraging Accountability
- The importance of church governance and oversight:
โ When you teach from the bible, use everything from the beginning to the end and use the exact phrases.
- Promoting Personal Discernment
- Encouraging members to engage with scripture and question teachings:
“Let’s say you are confused about baptism”.
โ The leader must give you a correct understanding of it and deliver you with a bible reference point so you check on it and practice it, or it can open your understanding.
Recovery and Healing from Deception Takes Time
Deception causes you to take a big blow in your life and it is certainly not fun. But healing takes time and with the help of a good teacher you get over it. Another great thing to do is to expose them right away.

Final thougts
We have discussed that there are many fake leaders in churches. An important step in your faith is to be more vigilant to recognize this, rather than just accepting a belief as truth. It is better that you be transparent and learn to distinguish text from right and wrong.
Key points in spotting fake Christian pastors:
- The poster should be transparent.
- The pastor must give biblical answers for everything.
- The pastor must have a overview of the bible.
- They are messed and crazy.
