Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Blogger [5 Mistakes]

I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Blogger

Hi friends,

I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Blogger

Before I started blogging, I made many mistakes that made my blog look bad, and my old blog post did not sync up with the reader.

The mistakes that I made in my blogging career consist of 5 errors. There are some errors I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Blogger.

  • Set no targets
  • Leaving typing errors
  • Not linking
  • Not serious
  • Not putting the reader first

1) Set no targets

The reason why my blog was struggling is that I’ve had no real-time targets to achieve. So I rushed writing and had no real idea of what to write.

Now I completely changed – before I write a new blog post, I have to learn the topic and some insights about it.

Then I learned a bit about timing, scheduling, and planning.

The next step was learning my writing voice, and at the same time beef, up the overall design plus the graphics.

The final step was to network, comment, and support other bloggers and content writers.

That gave my blog a boost in traffic.

2) Leaving type errors

As I rushed my writing, I had many errors in my blog post, and I did not have the time to fix them. I was busy with the next story.

What I did to overcome it: is to blog part-time, and at other times I plan to correct typing errors or not working links.

I have set my publishing hours to a limit because of time-consuming blog writing, and the internet, which can get a hold on my state of mind.

Below you see my blog and publishing hours. I wake up early.

3) Not linking

In some of my past blog posts, I overlooked linking stuff to my offers, blog posts, and site pages.

So the blog post looked like it was not researched enough and wasn’t inspiring or motivating.

I put some Call To Action, and it becomes uplifting and straightforward.

That boosted my blog even more.

4) Not serious

When someone mailed me about guest blogging or something else, I did not respond to that email. Due to my lack of experience, I got scared to answer any email.

What I did to overcome it is by changing my mind and opinion of it. So I learned the social and business side of it.

5) Not putting the reader first

My old blog post was a group of text without space to examine the topic. My words were stacked up, and it wasn’t enjoyable to read.

The text wasn’t readable to the public only to me. So I didn’t gain new subscribers, followers, and likes.

What I did is restructuring my blog post in the primary reading framework.

  • Intro
  • Base
  • Mini titles
  • Ending writings
